Hey everyone, I'm Nick and I'm pretty stoked about finding this group of gamers. I'm 32, from the Annapolis area, and I've been gaming since elementary school thanks to Ral Partha miniatures and the D&D red box so many here are likely familiar with. My gaming in recent years has been pretty sporadic due to that whole "growing up" thing but I'm hoping to rectify that through the Guild. In my gaming heyday, AD&D 2E was my rpg of choice, enjoying Dragonlance and Dark Sun in particular. I later moved on to games like Rifts, White Wolf's various dark fantasy genres and of course D&D 3(.5)E. I even briefly engaged in foam weapon combat with the Darkon larping group as well as a couple of MMOs and Warhammer over the years. Anyway, I have yet to test the waters of 4E but am eager to do so, especially with the release of Dark Sun (which prompted me to pick up 4E to begin with). I'm also intrigued by Pathfinder which sounds like a nice addition to the 3.5 material which so many of us possess. I hope to be able to check out the Eastern Expanse game first to not only work with 4E but to actually meet some of you guys and properly introduce myself. Cheers!

I'm running an organized play Pathfinder game on Thursday evening Sept. 16 at Games and stuff in Glen Burnie if you're interested. There's more info on the boards here.
A group of players also run organized play RPGA 4e games set in the Forgotten Realms.

Hey, Nick. I'm going to be running a Dark Sun 4E casual/sandbox game for the Guild, launching in September (gotta actually get the books and stuff). Check out the "The Waste" forum for some advance details, and we'd love to have you in the game!

Re: Hi from the new guy!
Both of those are great ideas, qstor! The episodic nature Pathfinder Society and Living Forgotten Realms games are great, especially if you have a busy or erratic schedule.
Additionally, Dan (one of the awesome GMs here) is heading up a West Marches style Dark Sun game called "The Waste". It combines episodic play with a fluid Dark Sun atmosphere. An atmosphere that, let's face it, was already phenomenal to begin with. The Waste is being kicked off at our next mini-con on the 18th of September. You can join in that day, or any time after that. It should be one for the record books. . .
Whatever you do, it's great to have you aboard! Every once and a while I run an old-school D&D game at a mini-con for nostalgia. So don't worry, all that grey matter you devoted to memorizing Gygaxian tables won't go to waste here.

Thanks for the welcomes and the invites! Both the Pathfinder game and The Waste (it's been too long since I last explored the burning lands of Athas) sound awesome...I'll definitely check out their forum sections. I'm also glad to hear that THAC0 makes an appearance every now and again!
