    Greetings!

Post by kevashida on 2010-08-30, 13:42

    Hello, everyone!

I'm Dave. Nice to meet you all, in as much as you can meet someone on an online forum.

I've very recently become interested in D&D. I've picked up most of the core mechanics from listening to the Critical Hit podcast and reading the PHB, and I feel confident that I'm ready to start playing. I'm looking for a group of people willing to bring in a newbie and showing him the ropes.

Transportation is a bit tough for me, as I rely on the bus system. A game near Towson would be best for me, but I can try to get anywhere within the city. Playing over Skype would also be a viable option for me. I've got a webcam so the other players can see my rolls, or, if everyone in the group plays World of Warcraft, we can just party up within that game and use the /roll system there.

Anyway, glad to meet y'all, and looking forward to chatting with other gamers. Thanks!

Edit: when I say 'the city', I mean Baltimore. Yes, Dave, this is the Heroe's Guild of Maryland, not the Heroe's Guild of right-near-you.

    Hey, Dave, welcome!

Seaniusmaximus and I will have to take issue with you over whether not Towson is "in the city," though.

Hell, even I don't think of Towson being in the city.

    All the same, welcome Dave!

True. Towson is county, not city. I tend to think of Baltimore in terms of the places I know, not the geological borders of the map. Either way, thanks for the welcomes.

It's OK Dave. We just get rednecks like XerO and Adam coming in here and saying they're from Baltimore when they really mean Catonsville or Owings Mills or some crap. Smile

Don't worry about me Dan, I'd never try to claim that particular honor. Besides, I'm a Harford County guy now.

I say "Baltimore" only to people outside of the area. Even people in southern Maryland have no clue where Owings Mills is. Wink

I attribute half my "hard to find nearby gamer" problems with the shape of fucking Baltimore County, though.
