Hello everyone

Hello everyone. I have been looking to make some new friends and meet new people. I have not played D&D in years. I would love to find a group. I have never played warhammer but would like to learn. I am open to anything. I am a very easy going person.

Hi Ben, welcome to the group. If you're interested in D&D, you've got a couple of options - our very own DMDan is running The Waste, a 4th Edition sandbox campaign set in the Dark Sun setting. Players set up which adventures they want to play in - it's all driven by the players. The Waste has it's own set of forums right here, you should check it out.

Also, on Wednesdays (usually, we're actually playing tonight this week) I'm running D&D Encounters, which is Wizard's low commitment, "pickup" game night. Show up, play for an hour or two and head back home again. It's the perfect environment to learn how to play 4E D&D. We run from 6pm to 8pm at Collector's Corner in Parkville.

As for Warhammer, which version were you looking at getting into? If it's 40K, both Gryphon and I are new to the game ourselves, but we do have a strong 40K community here in the Guild, just give j-smuv a shout.

I have never played d&d 4th edition, or warhammer, but they look like fun. Last time I played D&D was 1991 and I was only 10 years old at the time so its hard to say if the DM knew what he was doing or we were even playing it right. I am going to bartending school the week and next week, but the week after I will have to meet you at the collectors corner.

Because I'm doing Encounters for the store, not for the Guild. I'd love to see other Guild-folk there and I've put an announcement up, but it's not a Guild event.

I think it costs James money to set up a Meetup Event. But you're right, it's all gaming.

First let me say "welcome!" It's great to have you Ben, I hope you have a great time here! I've been outta town, so I apologize for the lateness of my greeting.

Now some other stuff. . .

It actually doesn't cost anything to post a meetup. . . The reason I only post one meetup a month is: I want as much content as possible to come from the Guild's members. That way, people can find the best gaming experiences for them, and they don't have to wait for me to post something they like. The meetups serve as a way to get your feet wet, maybe try a new system, in a one-shot environment. If you like a player you play with or the GM that runs it, you can ask about other games they are involved in.

Now the D&D Encounters Xer0 is running at Collector's Corner was initiated and executed by him. I'm not gonna swoop in at the 11th hour and take credit for it. That said. . . if ANYBODY wants to run a one-shot for a monthly meetup, to promote their home game or get one started, just let me know. We're always looking for guest GMs. Haha, especially since I have a kid due in December and I hear it will be kinda rough for the first few months.
