    Post by Elvorix 2010-12-18, 13:42

After securing our passage into the mansion and hopefully taking care of the last of those annoying lizard-folk, I am recruiting any adventurers interested in making money off the head of some human. Both the Templars and the Veiled Alliance are offering 250gp for some man named Mekhet and, while I don't care who we cash in on, I could certainly use the money.

I was thinking the first week of January for this. How is people's availability between January 3rd and the 8th?

Since this is your domain Daniel, I suppose we would like you to run this. Smile

Bik nods to slag, yes we should go back and further investigate the house. The shiny things in the basement interest me, as does the prospect of that reward.

I could do Mon, Wed, Fri, and maybe Thurs. That is the 3rd, 5th, 7th and maybe the 6th.

Trinma is prepared to finish what has been begun. The money is good and the killing is frequent. Though she worries about the halfling trying to get them all killed again.

Quinn is sad that he missed further harassing of the lizard folk. He has a few unfinished insulting limericks that he would have liked some inspiration for.

That being said, it is in the Templar's best interest to get Mekhet's head before the Veiled Alliance, and what's good for the Templar, is good for Quinn.

    (I am available Monday-Thursday of that week - 3rd-6th)

Well that looks like six players then:

    Elvorix (Defender)
    Bohrdumb (Defender?)
    biota (Controller)
    Gryphon (Striker)
    seaniusmaximus (Leader)
    ZeroTheFool (Leader)

The DM's preference is Thursday and everyone seemed to be able to play that day (except biota who has a maybe). So let's say that Thursday the 6th is the date for this unless some problem arises.

Give us a shout out if you plan on bringing something other than what I have you listed for so we can plan appropriately.

I intended to bring Arik (my defender) but if the party would be better suited with another striker, that would be possible.

Tis true, I'm an eternal optimist!

Assuming Arik can bumble his way to success and not stab himself in the back while trying to sheath his weapon, he intends to continuing adventuring as long as he is welcome!

    All,

I can still run on Thursday, but I had a question. My Tuesday game got spiked this week, and I have to be up early to drive far on Friday morning. Could folks make Tuesday or Wednesday instead?

Default is to stick to Thursday, but please let me know if you could shift.

Maybe we could bump it to next week? It might be better than having our GM sleepy on a long car trip somewhere.

And as much respect as I have for Dan, I hate pushing games back cus I do so look forward to them!

/also, Im thinking of bringing a striker, it would significantly speed up combat if we can up our damage and since dan needs to be done early/on time, I thought it might be a good idea

If you bring another Warden, my encounter design philosophy is just going to be "search the Compendium for every monster containing the terms 'Effect: You are no longer marked.'"

Haha, don't listen to Daniel! I'd say bring either another striker or your Fighter (since he lived and all). If you decide to go striker you should make sure to bring something epic with awesome damage output. Smile

Im quite conflicted, I like Arik(the fighter) but Im toying with a Swordmage/Psion that looks pretty decent (ac 20 at lvl 1 with a mark and ranged control), but I also know a striker would be really useful in our party buildup. I may just roll a throw away and put the e.p. into the bank to give to my new creation.

Into the Desert Mansion Empty We lived!

    Post by biota 2011-01-07, 13:40

One of Bikikcha's lesser arms twitched excitedly as he recounted the story of his clutch defeating the old cold bones in the cellar of the mansion. Standing in the middle of more than a dozen things unliving the unusually tall and cranky dwarf took a pounding unlike any I've ever seen. The most deadly foes though were the flaming skeletons with their orbs of pale fire. Slag even lived through the deadly swarm of insects which seemed to go for his living flesh over that of the cold things. (yeah I critted the warden on the close burst 3 power, d'oh!)

    ----

Daniel, thanks again for running. Hope your morning wasn't too to early today.

I can't decide what to take for Bik's second level feat. Some options:

    1. Defensive Mobility (+2 AC vs. Opportunity Attacks) to better be able to get into position for 'the bomb'
    2. Accurate Staff expertise (with an accurate staff get a +1 bonus (no type) to attacks) - hitting things is always good
    3. Wasteland Wanderer (+2 to perception, nature, and initiative) - more perception never hurts nor does going first

edit: Slag is a cranky male dwarf.

Alright, after selling the spears, wooden bowl, and polished horn mirror Bik, Arik and I all receive 20g.

Bik, I would say stay away from option 3, skill feats are never really worth it in my opinion. I would generally say go for option 2 unless you plan on seriously using the Defensive Mobility all the time (which you totally can, Slag certainly doesn't care about opportunity attacks).

As a side note, Slag is totally a cranky old dwarf man, not some little "she". Smile
