Into the Mines

We found the mines we were looking for, or at least we think we did, but we didn't get inside of them. This should be rectified. We have five amulets with the symbol of these people, the symbol of Urik, emblazoned on them and I hope to use them to enter the mines and find out what is going on in there. Hopefully we can find someone with some social graces in order to help facilitate this but if not we can just use our weapons as persuasive devices. Any adventurers who are interested are welcome to join.

I'm thinking sometime between the 14th and the 19th would be good for this. When are people available?

Oh dear... the 16th-19th are all out for me. 14th and 15th work well though!

Jonner is excited and eager to return, the fighting was good but he knows he wont be able to launch anyone off a cliff once we get underground. All the same he is curious to see what lies ahead and looks forward to sharing the glory with his friends.

Sadly I'm out of town that week. Have fun storming the castle (mine).

I could do this coming week pretty much whenever, but the 14th and 15th are definitely out for me, and I'm arranging something that will happen on one of the other nights that week.

Well in that case what are people's availability for this coming week? I'm pretty much limited to Thursday but if everyone else is free on a different day I might be able to pull some strings on my availability but no guarantees.

I could do Monday night (2/7), Thursday (2/10) or Friday (2/11). The following week I wouldn't be able to do our usual Thursday. That week I would only be able to swing Monday (2/14) or Friday (2/18). If those dates don't work for folks I will wish you all plentiful slaughtering and be totally fine with that, so don't worry over much about me.

I am free this Monday and Tuesday and next Monday and Tuesday but I am out the Wed,Thurs,Fri of both weeks. If we push it back an extra week I am free all but Wed and Friday.

Alright then, how about trying to find a day to play if we push back one more week like Bohrdumb suggested? Hopefully we can make everyone's schedules work for that week and maybe generate a little more interest in the time being. So, availability between the 21st and 26th anyone?

Oh dear, I'm only available the 22nd and 24th...I love my job, but it eats up my nights. Anyone wanna have a day game? ;0P

Bik really wants to get back out in the desert but unfortunately I'm out of town for most of the next few weeks. My next available dates are M, W, Th, F of the week of Feb 28-Mar 4.

Hmmm, this is really not working out very well right now. How unfortunate. Whats that website that we used a couple times where everyone could put their availability on a calendar or whatever? Maybe we can do that to see when people will be free over the next few weeks so we can try to find a day when we can get enough players to actually play? Its starting to look like we might have to wait until the end of February.

Sorry this took me a few days to get up, life has been eating my time recently. If you haven't used this before just click on the link, put your name in, and select the days that you have available. I put in the last week of February and the first week of March, hopefully we can find an agreeable time within this stretch of time.

Well it looks like we have at least enough people to play if we schedule for Thursday, March 3rd. We would have four players and a DM then so I guess it will work. Sorry that it doesn't work with everyone's schedule but I'm doing my best with what we've got.

Would we ever be up for giving the Wastes a dedicated night? That would allow people to be more aware when scheduling things in RL.

Well the point of having an open campaign like the Waste was to allow people who didn't have regular schedules a chance to play when they could.

Now are you asking someone to run a regular Dark Sun game? Anything may be possible.

Not specifically, though I would conceivably play if one was presented to me. I guess my suggestions to our conflicting schedules and minimal numbers would either be to facilitate a more permanent night, or bring in more possible players.

1. Not that you would assume it would be me, but were I to be running something ongoing and on a set night, I would prefer it to *not* be D&D. D&D, as a GM, suits me when it can be an excuse for stringing fights together with a little bit of plot, but I'm not excited about it as a more "serious" campaign. I know there are some folks who are only interested in D&D, and godspeed to you.

2. There's no real incompatibility here. If there are The Waste players who are interested in a set night, they can get together and organize a set night. I'm sure Angela and I would even be willing to work with them to make sure that one of us was more or less consistently available to DM. It wouldn't be an "official" The Waste night, but that's not really that important.

So, uh, is this game on? I need to plan out my next couple weeks.

Since I haven't gotten any confirmation, and I'd have needed time to prep, I'm going to have to declare this one canceled.

Apologies for not replying sooner. I'm back in town and my availability should be better in the coming weeks if we can reschedule. I dont' want to see this game waste away.
